The weather had not been great, wet and windy, not wet enough to bring the rivers up and make for some white water kayaking potential, but wet enough to make other adventure sports unappealing. Action Man was getting fidgety and keen to get out for some sort of an adventure so I agreed to take him out for a little mine exploration in one of North Wales's slate quarries. This kept us out of the worst of the elements whilst we explored underground. With the need for exercise temporarily satisfied we emerged to a distinctive strong smell of wet goats.
The Welsh Mountain Goats are considered feral rather than truly wild animals having originated from domesticated livestock many generations ago. The one we had encountered came and posed for its portrait as we passed which was a photographic bonus on an otherwise damp and dreary day.
